VOLUNTEERS NEEDED RACE DAY!

• Race Marshall’s (in pairs) needed along the route to point people in the right direction

• Water Station Volunteers to provide water at the 1 mile mark

• Timer Volunteer to call out times at the 1 mile mark

• Photographers

• Video Cameras at Start/Finish and 1-mile if possible. (Must bring their own video camera that can be uploaded and shared with event planning team.)

• Spotters at Main and 7^th St. to alert PA Announcer that the leader is approaching the finish line

• Singer or singers for the National Anthem

Gather with us at CITY PARK (Meet at the “Start and Finish” Line is on 7^th Street in front of the Memorial Building)

In conjunction with Heritage Days, Portales will host a two-mile fun run/walk on July 16. Net proceeds benefit the Portales Woman’s Club’s (PWC) scholarships and local and international service projects. The event will be $20 for those 19 and over, $10 for youth 18 and under, or $40 per family.

Registration for the 21^st annual edition is available at portales.com under the “events” tab, or in person at the Roosevelt County Chamber of Commerce. T-shirts are provided the morning of the event for all pre-registered participants and race-day entrants if supplies permit. The run/walk begins at 8:05 am. at the Memorial Building in Portales.

Last year’s even drew more than 100 participants and volunteers. Again this year it is sponsored by Eastern Family Dentistry, the PWC, and Heritage Days. For information call Lee Hurren at 575-562-2444.
