What We Do
Our club is a gathering place for women who cherish living in Roosevelt County.
Portales Woman's Club is active in local affairs of Portales, New Mexico.
We volunteer to support numerous local organizations: Portales Meals on Wheels, The Hartley House, The Baptist Children's Home, Heartland Nursing Home, Roosevelt Co. Pioneer Luncheon, and Portales Santa Cop.
We support the educational growth and development of local students through scholarships and leadership program attendance.
We continue the legacy of advancing just causes through the General Federation of Women's Clubs. With over 80,000 members in affiliated clubs in every state, the District of Columbia, and more than a dozen countries, GFWC members work in their own communities to support the arts, preserve natural resources, advance education, promote healthy lifestyles, encourage civic involvement, and work toward world peace and understanding.
