Who We Are

ENMU Women first met on September 10, 1940 under the name of Faculty Dames with 28 founding members. The name was changed in 1981 to University Wives and Women and then to ENMU Women in 1990. ENMU Women has always been involved in volunteering activities such as Meals on Wheels, KENW-TV’s quarterly pledge drives, and Altrusa’s Holiday Happening, but we have changed over the years from being primarily a social organization to a charitable one. The scholarship endowment at the ENMU Foundation was created in 1981 and is our primary purpose today in addition to volunteer opportunities. We have two organizational meetings a year: the fall breakfast and a spring meeting.

What We Do

ENMU Women is dedicated to supporting the educational advancement of adult learner students at Eastern New Mexico University, with a focus on empowering women through access to higher education. By fundraising and providing scholarship opportunities, we aim to reduce financial barriers, encourage academic persistence, and help individuals achieve their personal and professional goals. We endeavor to give back to our community and inspire lifelong change through meaningful volunteer service.
