Learn How We are Increasing the Financial Competency of Our Youth!
Come out for Breakfast! Representatives from the El Paso Branch of Federal Reserve of Dallas and United Way of Eastern New Mexico will be on hand to share details about how we are working together on Reality Check Day events for high school students across our area.

??Reality Check Day is an interactive hands-on financial literacy event for high school students to experience some of the financial challenges they will face when they start life on their own.
Students will begin by playing the role of a career person with family-they must complete a budget sheet requiring them to live within their monthly salary while paying for basics such as housing, utilities, transportation, clothing, and food. Additional expenditures such as entertainment and travel are factored in as well.
In the second half of Reality Check Day, students have to face financial challenges of unemployment, homelessness, living on social security or disability, or unplanned for medical circumstances.
The commitment of our Business Community to participate in and support this learning program is vital to the financial competence of our young people's ability one day be successful, self-sufficient, productive members of our community.
Please JOIN us on Friday September 16 to learn more about Reality Check Day!
