Summer is in full swing and lots of events are happening across our local area. Looking over our calendar today, things are looking to be busy in the coming weeks. We are winding down with the 2-1-1 Diaper Drive this week, but you still have time to donate if you missed out. Just give us a call and we will swing by to pick up your donations.
Once we wrap up the Diaper Drive, we will roll into the 2-1-1 Stuff the Bus campaign. We have lots of opportunities to volunteer for this event as it draws closer. On August 3rd, we will be collecting donations in Clovis at Wal-Mart, Big Lots and Office Max. Up in Portales, we will be set-up at Wal-Mart. Do you have an hour or so of time to help us out? If so, please head over to volunteerenm.org and sign up. Haven't built your profile yet, please take a few minutes to do so. It's quick and easy and we are just a phone call away if you need help.
Other events happening in the next couple of weeks are; Produce to People at Hillcrest Park on July 8th, the Inter-agency Roundtable meeting July 10th in Portales and the Roosevelt County Health Council will also meet July 10th at La Casa in Portales.
Did you know that we also have a number of ongoing needs listed on volunteerenm.org? Some of these needs include; collecting gently used grocery bags for the Food Bank, donations of new or gently used formal wear for Monarch Formals, collecting aluminum cans for Habitat for Humanity, hospice volunteers for Kindred Hospice and PRMC Hospice, Shampoo Roundup for Matt 25, closet organizer for Hartley House and many organizations are in need of some office assistance, mentors and tutors to help out.
There are a variety of needs posted at volunteerenm.org that you can assist with as you are able to. We would love to have you join us in volunteering and giving back to our local communities. With neighbors helping neighbors and friends helping friends, we can all work together in giving a hand up not a hand out.
